Charlotte & Steve are hosts of the luxurious and historic Greenhill Lodge, located in the Hawke's Bay. The market is proving to be challenging for accommodation out there! Bookings for the last 3 months were well down when compared to 2019, with a softening in the market. One positive is that the further forward the booking, the greater the chance of it being a direct, so ensuring rates are loaded in ResBook until mid to late 2025 is important. Let's look at recent performance a bit closer:
May booking volumes were down 35.7% and revenues down 57.5% compared to May 2023.
Direct bookings revenue vs OTA channels is steadily climbing and sitting at 78.6% direct YTD, compared to 70.6% for 2023 YTD.
Forward bookings revenue for June is currently sitting at over 41% of 2023's June total which is a positive start for the month.
